The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the entire amount of immobilized Russia's funds to support the Ukrainian war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this joint measure would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They added that the move would be carried out in strong partnership with the US.

British penalties have blocked over ÂŁ25bn of Russia's funds since Russia initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had exclusively been sourced from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward employing the complete amount of the frozen Russian sovereign holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that more measures soon would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement follows EU leaders gathered in the Danish capital last week to consider utilizing seized Russia's assets for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or otherwise use frozen Russia's assets, according to media sources.

The total of seized Russian assets in the EU is calculated to be almost €211bn.

President Zelensky calls on the United Kingdom's Sir Keir Starmer to participate in the Purl program

Moscow executed extensive aerial attacks throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, leading to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were fatally injured and at least 20 people were injured in the assault, the Ukrainian government said.

In a message on X after the strike, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike targeted non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not just talk but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and enforcing sanctions," he emphasized.

"Every sanction decision weakens the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed reporters he would urge Sir Keir to enter the Purl scheme, under which partner nations buy weapons from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the United Kingdom's strong support for Kyiv, he said it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce additional sanctions on the Russian Federation.
