The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Chose the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from Critical Role, revealed a new introductory sequence. It showcases the beloved group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals fighting hard and taking names, while also hinting at multiple heart-wrenching personal histories for characters such as Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, the character Fjord.

Overall, the intro appears amazing. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.

This sequence employs "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition created by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the official score of that title, the second release put out by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental option, and I suspect that devotees of the second campaign will love its presence.

But for me, The Mighty Nein's opening doesn't quite capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", written by musician the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member Sam Riegel wrote words to the tune for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Featuring vocals from one actress, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as the writer, the track was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't seen the second campaign at that point, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my phone. This track that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords in my opinion. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I can't help but feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have a few surprises and differences from the original live sessions. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be released on Prime Video from November 19. For those eager before that, or wish to prepare to get to know the characters of the second series, the original episodes are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
