Performer Denies Anti-Vaccine Position Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Pandemic Film

Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and lauds one-time government figure the political figure.

The Feature's Contentious Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the influenza shot.

The publication's writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right media personality Alex Jones. He took to social media praising Neeson's participation in the documentary.

A Strong Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Neeson have provided a statement firmly refuting implications that he subscribes to anti-immunization sentiments.

"We all recognize that unethical practices might be present within the drug industry, but that must not be equated to rejection of vaccines," the statement states. "Liam never has been, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the UN children's agency underscores his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

It added that the star did not shape the project's messaging and that questions about its content ought to go to the filmmakers.

Central Assertions Featured in the Feature

According to the documentary, the narration read by Neeson features several controversial points:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "science has become highly politicized."
  • RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The film takes aim at stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Controversy and Recent Disputes

It further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the focus of a correction by the corporation for violations of guidelines.

Last month, the political figure called on the CDC to revise its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a fresh analysis from the global health body stating no evidence has been found.

A Previous Statement of Endorsement

Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

The documentary concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This marks not the finish of our narrative. It is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
