Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bentham. This character can use their power to change into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and cartoon version.

This performer is joined by several other new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, featuring leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.

Although this character is a important part of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this represents a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part.
